APRIL 2023: SAN DIEGO CONVENTION CENTER – The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) organized the first-ever Grid Edge Technologies Conference Exposition, attracting nearly 2,000 registrants to collaborate and develop innovation solutions for the future of the energy industry.
The groundbreaking event united stakeholders from various sectors, including utilities, municipalities, academics, big tech, startups and policy makers. The conference featured startup pitches that included several of Joules Accelerator’s portfolio companies, including Moment Energy (Cohort 9), Rhizome (Cohort 10), Noteworthy AI (Cohort 10), and IONATE (Cohort 11).
Joules Accelerator’s VP of Strategy & Innovation, Ryan Rutledge, represented the accelerator alongside board members from S&C Electric and other notable sponsors such as Charlotte-based Honeywell, OATI, Hitachi, Black & Veatch, Eaton and RTP-based SAS. Rutledge also sat on an innovation panel to discuss various aspects of partnering with startups, emphasizing the importance of pilot programs, revenue generation, and collaboration with utilities and other large corporate partners.
The Grid Edge Technologies Conference and Exposition demonstrated the growing importance of collaboration between established industry leaders and innovative startups in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.
